Medzi zástancov tejto teórie patrili Thomas Tooke, John Fullarton a John Stuart Mill ml. Zásady bankovej školy boli v protiklade k peňažnej škole.

Banking School: a school of thought that emerged in 19th century England. It argued that an accurate measure of the volume of currency in a market must include bank deposits in addition to notes and gold in circulation, and furthermore that regulation of note issues would be counterproductive. Proponents included Thomas Tooke, John Fullarton, and John Stuart Mill Jr. The tenets of this theory were in opposition to the Currency School. See Currency School.
