Cenová elasticita dopytu (Price Elasticity of Demand): miera zmeny dopytovaného množstva statku z dôvodu zmeny ceny daného statku (počítaná ako pomer zmeny množstva k zmene ceny statku v percentách). Dopyt je elastický vzhľadom k cene, keď zmena ceny statku spôsobí väčšiu zmenu v jeho množstve a miera je vyššia než 1. Dopyt je neelastický vzhľadom k cene, keď zmena dopytovaného množstva je nižšia ako zmeny ceny statku a, ktorý ju spôsobi u spôsobená zmenou ceny je menej než úmerná a miera je menej ako 1. Price Elasticity of Demand: a measure that calculates the rate of response of the quantity demanded because of a change in prices. Price elasticity of demand is a ratio of the change of demand (in percentage) to the change of price. It is said that demand is elastic with respect to price when the change of price results in a greater than proportionate change in demand and the ratio is higher than 1. Demand is inelastic with respect to price when the change of demand caused by the change of price is less than a proportionate change and the ratio is below 1. Demand may be absolutely inelastic when price changes do not result in any changes in demand, or absolutely elastic when goods and services are purchased for one stable price.
