Pyramídová hra, Ponziho schéma (Pyramid Scheme, Ponzi Scheme): finančný plan, v ktorej investor (vkadateľ), získava vysoké výnosy z investície predovšetkým z vkladov nových investorov. Pyramídová hra môže byť otvorená, keď investor získava výnos iba ak prinesie nových investorov, alebo skrytá, keď si vkadateľ nie je vedomý, že jeho výnos je platený z nových vkladov a nie z investičných príjmov. Vo všetkých prípadoch je pyramídový princíp zlomyseľný a odsúdený na neúspech, akonáhle je prísun nových vkladov prerušený. Pyramídové hry sú používané podvodníkmi, ktorí nalákajú neskúsených investorov na vysoké výnosy, zvlášť v rozvojových krajinách. Keď sa pyramídová hra zrúti, tak poslední vkladatelia sú najviac poškodení. Pyramídové hry môžu byť vymyslené aj štátnymi orgánmi.

Pyramid Scheme, Ponzi Scheme: a financial scheme in which the investor (depositor) receives large returns on investment primarily from the contributions of new investors. A pyramid scheme may be open, when the investor gets the return only after bringing new investors; or hidden, when the investor is not aware that his return is paid from new contributions rather than investment income. In all cases the pyramid principle is vicious and doomed to failure as soon as the flow of new contributions is disrupted. Pyramid schemes are used by crooks who tempt inexperienced investors with high returns, mostly in emerging market countries. As the pyramid collapses, those who were the last to contribute suffer most. Pyramid schemes can also be devised by state authorities.
