Vyrovnaný rozpočet (Balanced budget): situácia, pri ktorej sa príjmy rozpočtu verejných financií rovnajú verejným výdavkom.
Ak je rozpočet vyrovnaný, štát ma dostatok vnútorných zdrojov (prostriedkov vytvorených vyberaním daní) na financovanie svojich funkcií a nepotrebuje si požičať.
Vyrovnaný rozpočet je tak garanciou, že štát nebude musieť v blízkej budúcnosti zvýšiť dane na krytie dlhu.

Balanced Budget: a situation where the revenues of the public finance budget and funds are equal to public finance expenditures. When the budget is balanced, the state has sufficient internal resources (funds collected through taxes) to finance its functions, and does not need to borrow. A balanced budget serves as a guarantee that the state will not have to raise taxes in the near future to cover its debt.
